Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a Myriad Travel representative and transferred to your selected hotel.

After check-in, enjoy a short safari briefing and relax after your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore the nearby city or simply unwind at your hotel.

Overnight: Kigali.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour – Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, set out on a guided tour of Kigali, one of Africa’s cleanest and most vibrant cities.

Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial for an insightful look into Rwanda’s history before exploring local craft markets and selected city attractions.

Later, enjoy a scenic drive through Rwanda’s rolling hills to Volcanoes National Park. Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon, check in and relax before dinner.

Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience

Enjoy an early breakfast before proceeding to the park headquarters for a briefing by experienced park rangers.

Begin your exciting trek through the lush forests of Volcanoes National Park in search of the endangered mountain gorillas. The trek may take between two and six hours depending on the location of your assigned gorilla family.

Once you find them, spend one unforgettable hour observing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat, a truly once-in-a-lifetime wildlife encounter.

Return to the lodge to relax after your adventure.

Day 4: Lake Kivu Excursion

After breakfast, travel to the beautiful lakeside town of Gisenyi on the shores of Lake Kivu.

Spend the day enjoying the peaceful surroundings, take a lakeside walk, relax on the beach, or choose from optional activities such as a boat cruise or kayaking.

This day offers the perfect opportunity to unwind after your gorilla trekking adventure.

Dinner and overnight in Gisenyi.

Optional: Guests who wish may substitute this day with a second gorilla trek (additional permit charges apply).

Day 5: Return to Kigali – Departure

After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely drive back to Kigali.

If time permits before your flight, you may stop for last-minute shopping or visit local craft centres before being transferred to Kigali International Airport for your onward journey.

Your Rwanda adventure comes to an end with wonderful memories of the Land of a Thousand Hills.
